Mark Funk's Great MLA '12 Lecture

Mark Funk's Janet Doe Lecture was the (programming) highlight of my MLA 2012 experience.  His story of librarianship as seen through a content analysis of the MLA Bulletin was ridiculously engaging.

Themes for MLA '11

It dawned on me today that the MLA '11 submission deadline is only a couple of weeks away (Nov 1).  Early, as usual.  I took a look at the program themes, and I must say .... it looks good, promising.  I'm impressed, intrigued.  Particularly w/ the following:

  • Rethinking the Librarian’s Role in EHRs, PHRs, and EMRs: A Place at the Table
  • The Role of the Librarian in the Systematic Review Process
  • From Bench to Bedside: Librarians’ Roles in Translational Medicine

Plus, it looks like TOR is in MIN for a few of those days.  Should be good times.
